Budweiser Made in America Festival is an annual music festival founded in 2012 by American rapper, record producer and business mogul Jay-Z and his business associate, marketing mogul Steve Stoute, as a way to bring together music and culture. The festival is held in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and in Los Angeles, California simultaneously. Sponsored by Anheuser–Busch and produced by Live Nation, the event features several stages that continuously host live music from a wide range of genres including hip hop, rock, pop, R&B, and EDM.
Because the festivals are held in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and in Los Angeles, California simultaneously, the idea was to feature three video-enhanced, interactive, monitors in each location, streaming live feed of festival goers. The people were prompted by on screen instructions to preform a number of tasks such as: Do a dance, give a cheers, take a selfie etc to share a fun, festive, eye to eye experience in real time.
My task was to design the look of the monitors. Using cinema 4D, Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator, I came up with an on-brand piece that was fabricated and featured at the 2014 Festival in August.
Initial concept with 3 separate monitors
2nd concept showing singular monitor
